The
best thing to do with your newspaper when you're finished reading it is to take
it -- and all the other used newspapers in your community, neighborhood or city
-- to a recycling center where new paper can be made from the old.
That
cuts down on the solid waste we have to get rid of and it saves the natural resources
-- trees -- that are needed to produce paper.
But
if you don't have a recycling center and can't start one, here are some other
uses for your paper.
Pick
some flowers and use the paper to wrap them in.
Line your kitty's litter
box.
Make a paper mache' monster.
Put it on the floor while you're painting.
Make a hat.
Roll it into kindling for the fireplace.
Make a boat
that sails and then sinks.
Wallpaper your room.
Make a telescope.
Make paper snowballs for throwing indoors or a house with a piano or an airplane
that really flies.
Make a map or furniture.
Cut and paste your own book.
Give it to your local fish market.
Make your shoes fit.
Use it
for sound effects.
Make toys for your cat.
Wrap presents.
Cover
your books.
Make a paper fan, a funnel, a teepee or loudspeaker or a kite
to explore the stratosphere.
Train a puppy.
